Gionee has launched the  Elife S5.1  in India for Rs 18,999(US $312). The S5.1 is Gionee’s slimmest smartphone and is expected to hit store shelves next week. Earlier this year, Gionee said that the Elife S5.1 has been recognised by guinness book of World Records as the slimmest smartphone in the world. However,  Oppo recently launched R5 , has replaced the S5.1 as the slimmest smartphone in the world. The Elife S5.1 comes with a metallic frame and glass body at just 5.1mm thickness.
